Preserving the Gardens
As users of the Domain we are reminded to be cautious of people pouring ice from their drink coolers and placing plastic mats on the grass. Such actions are likely to cause damage to the grounds.
Wax dripping from candles on to the Domain grounds throughout the evening causes significant damage to the grassed areas and all patrons attending the event are encouraged to use the candle holders provided in the Salvation Army Show bags.
Look after The Gardens because after all they belong to you.
Waste Wise Events
Through a collaborative approach, the Sydney Festival have worked with Clean Event, Resource NSW and Clean and Green Recycling to implement a simple waste system placing the responsibility of waste sorting and disposal into the hands of the public. Woolworths’ Carols in the Domain event management staff give full support to this recycling initiative.
Please look out for the cleaners at the event who will be handing out 2x 72ltr bags to Domain concert patrons during the afternoon and evening:
a clear bag for recyclable glass and plastic drink bottles, aluminum cans and clean paper such as newspaper, festival programs, carol books etc.
a black bag for all other general waste.
Patrons will be asked to sort their waste similar to recycling at home and leave both bags on the ground for cleaners to collect. The recyclable load will then be taken to a recycling facility for sorting.
Animals
All animals in the Domain are to be on a lead however they should be discouraged from coming on site. Animals not involved in the performance cannot go backstage and must be tethered outside the owners immediate work/rest area with adequate shade. Owners should ensure there is adequate water and must collect all faeces and dispose of it appropriately.
