Our Charity
Woolworths Carols in the Domain is very proud to have The Salvation Army and The Salvation Army Oasis Youth Support Network as its official charities.
Each year The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal helps thousands of needy Australians at this very special time of the year. In 2004 The Salvos provided more than 8,000 Christmas dinners at their shelters; accommodated 10,000 people who would otherwise sleep on the street; distributed more than 150,000 food parcels and vouchers for families and saw that 250,000 children got to open a gift on Christmas morning.
And don't forget to buy a Woolworths' Carols in the Domain candle bag at this year's event. The Salvation Army Oasis Youth Support Network volunteers sell their traditional candle bags which are jam packed full of goodies and valued at over $100.
Remember when you buy a candle bag you'll be helping disadvantaged, disconnected and homeless young people.
The Oasis Youth Support Network is The Salvation Army's major response to youth homelessness. It is made up of a range of youth services in the inner city. Through these programs, Oasis aims to contact young people affected by homelessness, and provide them with support to move from the streets to independent living and employment.
